This week’s post is a bit different because I will be releasing a new book soon. For those of you who haven’t followed me on Instagram or Twitter, I’ve been posting quite a lot of buzz about my upcoming book: “Maybe Everything”.
Several days ago, I opened a Q&A session on my Instagram account and received a relatively positive response from my readers. I’ve tried to answer every question I received, but as I tell more people about this upcoming release, I also get more and more questions—not limited through my Instagram account—about the book in general.
Now, since a lot of these questions are similar, I attempted to create a list of frequently asked questions below. Keep in mind that I will be updating this list with even more questions in the weeks leading to the book’s release. So if you have questions I haven’t included in the list, please feel free to leave a comment below, or reach me out on any of my social media. I’ll make sure to update the post with your questions!

Q: When is the book release date?
A: We’re expecting it to be available nationwide by the week of September 24. As always, the Jakarta area might be getting the supplies earlier than other areas. And please keep in mind that the above is only a rough estimation. Here’s hoping everything will go as planned. Cheers!
Q: What is the book about?
A: The book is titled “Maybe Everything”. If you’ve been following me on this blog, you would know that “Maybe Everything” used to be the title of one of my short stories. Basically, this book is a compilation of my writings (short stories, poetry, prose) around the general theme of love that I have compiled into a book.
“Maybe Everything” is but one of the stories featured in the book, as well as the central piece of it, hence the adopted title.
Q: Is this book written in English / Bahasa Indonesia?
A: The book is written 100% in English. I’ve had my own hesitation about publishing a book in full English, but I feel like for the stories, poetry, and prose I’ve included, the English language suits the overall theme slightly better than Bahasa Indonesia.
Q: What inspired you to write the pieces in Maybe Everything?
A: The short stories, poetry, and prose were inspired by my personal experience and heartbreak.
Q: How long did it take for you to complete the book?
A: The oldest writing from this book is dated from late 2014, with the most recent being from late 2017. Since it’s a compilation of shorter forms of writings, I didn’t set a target for myself to finish it—hence the three years in the making.
Q: Will the book be available at ______?
A: Maybe Everything will be available all over Indonesia after the release date. You can find the book in major bookstores. It will probably show up in a lot of e-commerce too, so keep yourselves posted!

A: The book will be available in paperback (softcover) only.
Q: Do you open a pre-order? How can I get a signed copy?
A: I currently have no plan on opening a pre-order. But please feel free to drop me a message on any of my social media if you’re interested in getting a signed copy. If there’s a lot of people requesting it, I might be able to work something out.
Q: I have purchased the “Maybe Everything” booklet before. Will this book be any different?
A: Thank you for purchasing the booklet! Yes, this upcoming book will be very different from the booklet from last year. The booklet only contained “Maybe Everything” short story, but there are 35 other pieces of writings I have compiled into the paperback version, so don’t miss out!
