Scars – a poem

She is known as the queen of the battlefields
not only for her overwhelming victory
and glory
but also for all the scars she has gotten over the years.

The scar from being underestimated
The scar from being objectified
The scar from being second-guessed
The scar from being denied

Yet still she stood in front of adversity
never bowing down to anyone–
fighting for everyone who believed in her;
who believed in the world she wanted to create:
a world where women matter.

And that is why she was truly a queen,
and always will be.
