Grand Blue – a short prose

Originally written for a prompt submitted by @agungmbud

His heart is a jigsaw marvel
of purest grand blue–
a vast expanse that stretches
until the far ends of the horizon,
awaiting to be unraveled.
He held in his hands my heart–
a battered, cloudy quartz
that has lost its brilliance;
a brittle sphere destined
to slip from his hands
and meld into the ocean.
