I fell in love with a forgetful man

who forgets his own birthday,

but never forgets mine.

Who forgets his grocery list,

but never forgets my coffee order.

Who forgets purple as my favorite color,

but remembers iris as my favorite flower.

I fell in love with a forgetful man

who forgets the things I thought he’d remember

yet remembers the things I thought he’d forget.
